Online Blackjack 101
Want to play blackjack but don't know a soft hand from a soft drink? Online blackjack provides the perfect opportunity to play this fun and exciting casino game. There's no one but you to worry about, so you can play at your own pace and don't have to concern yourself with slowing the game down for others or embarrassing yourself with mistakes.
Online Blackjack Basics
Still, you'll have the most fun if you have a fairly good grasp on the rules and basic ideas behind blackjack. When you start your online blackjack game, there will be a display with a circle in which you can place your bet. Place your bet and click deal to receive two cards, while the dealer has one exposed card.
Your goal is to get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. All cards are their face value, with picture cards worth ten and aces worth either one or 11.
After receiving your two cards and seeing the dealer's exposed card, you can stand if you are happy with your total or hit if you want another card. You can also double if you want to put up twice your bet to receive one additional card or split if you have two cards of the same value and want to use them as the base for two distinct hands. You may hit as often as you like, unless you break (or "bust") by going over 21.
Once you are done, the dealer turns over a second card. If he has 16 or less he must hit, 17 or higher he must stand. If the dealer has a "soft" hand (a hand with an ace, so called because you cannot break on one card, since you can change the value of the ace from 11 to one) he must follow the same rules as for a hard hand unless he has 17.
Here the rules vary, with some casinos saying the dealer must hit and others that he must stand. If the dealer ends up with a closer hand to 21 he wins. If he goes over or has a lower total, he loses. If the player has already busted the player automatically loses regardless of what happens to the dealer.
Basic Blackjack Strategy
Remember that if the dealer has a 6 or lower showing, his odds of breaking are fairly good, better the closer he is to a 6 showing. In these cases, you should try to avoid breaking at all costs and maximize your bets when you can safely do so without fear of breaking.
Blackjack
If you are dealt a ten point card and an ace, you have blackjack and automatically win 3-to-2 unless the dealer has blackjack, in which case you tie. Insurance is a 2-to-1 bet offered when the dealer has an ace showing. If you make this bet and the dealer has blackjack, you win that bet but lose your regular bet so you break even.
If you also have blackjack, you get paid even money no matter what happens. If neither you nor the dealer has blackjack, you lose the insurance bet and play the hand normally. Insurance is a poor odds bet and something you should avoid.
PokerZone Poker Rules
Poker is a card game in which players bet into a communal pot during the course of a hand, and in which the player holding the best hand at the end of the betting wins the pot.
Poker is usually played with a standard 4-suit 52-card deck. The ace normally plays high, but can sometimes play low. A joker or other wild cards may be added. Wild cards introduce an additional hand, five of a kind, which normally ranks above a straight flush. When a joker is in play, it usually can only be used as an ace or to complete a straight or flush. It cannot be used as a true wild card.
At the showdown, those players still remaining compare their hands according to the hand rankings. Suits are not used to break ties, nor are cards beyond the fifth; only the best five cards in each hand are used in the comparison. In the case of a tie, the pot is split equally among the winning hands.
Royal Flush
A straight from a ten to an ace and all five cards of the same suit.
Straight Flush
Five cards of the same suit in sequence. Ranked by the high card.
Four-of-a-Kind
Four cards of the same rank accompanied by a kicker. Ranked by the quads, so that 44442 beats 3333K.
Full House
Three cards of one rank accompanied by two of another. Ranked by the trips, so that 44422 beats 333AA.
Flush
Five cards of the same suit. Ranked by the high card, and then by the next card, so that AJ942 beats AJ876. Suits are not used to break ties.
Straight
Five cards in sequence, such as 76543. The ace plays either high or low, making AKQJT and 5432A. "Around the corner" straights like 32AKQ are usually not allowed.
Three-of-a-Kind
Three cards of the same rank and two kickers of different ranks. Ranked by the trips, so that KKK84 beats QQQAK, but QQQAK beats QQQA7.
Two Pair
Two cards of one rank, two cards of another rank and a kicker of a third rank. Ranked by the high pair, then the bottom pair and finally the kicker, so that KK449 beats any of QQJJA, KK22Q, and KK445.
One Pair
Two cards of one rank accompanied by three kickers of different ranks. Ranked by the pair, followed by each kicker in turn, so that AAK53 beats AAK52.
High Card
Any hand that does not qualify as one of the better hands above. Ranked by the high card, then the second card and so on, as for flushes. Suits are not used to break ties.
Rules of Omaha Hold'Em
The rules of Omaha are very similar to those of Texas Hold'em. There are only two differences:
* Each player receives four hole cards, instead of two.
* One must use *exactly* three community cards and two hole cards to make
one's hand.
Omaha is often played high/low, meaning that the highest and lowest hands split the pot. The low hand usually must "qualify" by being at least an 8-low (the largest card must be 8 or lower). One can use a different two cards to compete for the high and low portions of the pot, and the game is played "cards speak" rather than "declare". Aces are either low or high, and straights and flushes don't count for low. Since everybody must use two hole cards to make a hand, the board must have three cards 8 or lower for a low to even be possible. Players often tie for low, and the low half of the pot is divided equally among them.
Let It Ride
ach player puts up three bets of identical size and is dealt three cards; two more cards are dealt face-down in front of the dealer. After examining his three cards, the player may elect to have one bet returned or to "let it ride." One of the down cards is then turned over, and then the player may again elect to have one bet returned -- this election is independent of the prior election. Up to this point players are not allowed to disclose their three-card hands to each other. Now the second down card is turned over; the player's three cards and the two common cards in front of the dealer comprise a five-card poker hand.
Being able to have up to two of the three bets returned by the dealer is logically equivalent to starting with one bet and being allowed to put out up to two more. I surmise that the game is structured as it is because it would otherwise be too easy for players to covertly press bets -- the bet circles on the layout are quite close together.

Online Roulette Tips
From action online to brick and mortar, roulette is one of the most enjoyable games that casinos have to offer. Combining the odds with betting options makes for an exciting go every time the wheel spins.
Online roulette offers the same excitement as live casinos, but instead of the croupier dictating the pace, you get to call the shots. Consider a few great tips to maximize your online roulette potential.
How to Make the Most of Online Roulette
Perhaps the greatest aspect of online roulette is that you'll never get lost in the shuffle. Regardless of how skilled a player you may be, when tables get crowded in live casino environments, there are times when you can't effectively put your system into practice.
Playing online gives you the time to make the bets you want, enabling you to offer a more critical eye to the odds and your overall betting scheme. Simply put, don't feel any pressure while playing online, and take a few minutes to read up on gambling articles online before you choose a casino.
Spread Your Bets
If you'd prefer, you can make the majority of your bets on red or black, and you'll quickly find that you'll be playing to break even. You'll hover around that even mark with little lost or little gained. However, if you're hoping to consider a session successful, then your eyes naturally focus toward scoring a profit.
In order to profit, develop a system based on odds and potential payout. Spread your bets by halving, quartering and choosing number sections, as well as evens and odds. This is a great way to ensure that you will win at least something on every spin, and something lucrative when you hit your bigger bets.
Play a Single Zero Wheel
When playing online roulette, you need to find a single zero wheel. This is also known as a European wheel.
Most American roulette wheels possess a single and double zero slot, dropping your playing edge by over two percent.
Two percent may not sound substantial, but when you're playing a game of chance, there's no good reason to take away any potential edge. You'll have no problem finding single zero roulette wheels online.
The Wheel
The game of American Roulette is played on a wheel which consists of thirty-eight slots, each with its own number. The numbers on a Roulette wheel are 1-36, 0, and 00. The numbers alternate pairs of odd numbers with pairs of even numbers. The numbers also alternate between black and red. Both the 0 and 00 slots are green. A dealer, or croupier spins the wheel in one direction and then rolls a small ball in the other direction. The ball then drops into one of the slots as it begins to slow down.
The Table
The table is designed so that the numbers, not including 0 and 00, are lined up into three columns, each of twelve numbers, the first row is 1,2,3; the second row is 4,5,6 and so on. The rest of the table is devoted to the myriad bets the game entails. Betting is broken down into two major categories, inside bets and outside bets. There is no limit to the number of bets one can play
English Roulette
The major difference between English and American Roulette is that English has only a 0 instead of both 0 and 00.
Sic Bo
Sic Bo is a dice game which consists of many places on the table to place bets. Three dice are used to determine the outcome of the betting.
